Great, modern fan.
We purchased this fan for our living area. Installation wasn't too bad, but the remote sensor box took a few tries to get placed. Just be mindful of where you stick your wiring and make sure to leave enough space for the box to fit. We have 8 foot ceilings, so only used the rod that came with fan. The motor cover will absolutely fit, and we put it on, as we have no desire to use the reverse switch on the fan. The fan is quiet and works really well. It puts out a ton of air. The light gets much brighter than we had anticipated, which is great. Overall, we are very happy with our purchase and glad to be rid of the 80's fan that the MinkaAire replaced.

Great choice for my decorating needs.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We just installed this last week...my husband and son, that is. We are so very pleased with the ease of install, and the attractiveness of this fan. I was hoping to see a warmer LED output, and will be looking to see where to find a unit. I thought it was interesting that the LED unit is an all in one piece, that is, the LED's are in the glass lamp. I chose this unit based on the lower ceiling height, and for the great match the lamp made to six existing kitchen lights that are set into the ceiling around the perimeter of the cooking area. One color side of the blades made a perfect coordination to my cherry cupboards.

Looks great, super quiet opperation.
The fan is well made and is super quiet on all speeds. No annoying motor hum at slower speeds. There are two things I wish they did slightly better. The remote transmitter pack that goes in the canopy could be a bit smaller for easier installation, and the dimmable range on the LED could be greater. Also since there are two light buttons on the remote it would be nice if one went to "max up" and one to "max down." Both buttons "cycle through the full range," meaning once it is fully down, it then starts going back up when held. Worked well with our existing single 2 conductor wiring.

Very quiet and light is jus tthe right brightness
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had this fan installed for two weeks now. I initially was not excited about buying a fan with a remote control -- just another thing to potentially break. But after a little research, I determined that I could bypass the entire remote control system and wire the fan directly to a fan-control wall switch, and wire the LED light directly to a standard wall dimmer. Works great -- no issues with having done this so far, and I've used the fan and light a lot. (This is not a installation configuration described or supported in the manual, so do so at your own risk.)
It was a little challenging to install with the supplied short rod, but was doable.

Remote Ceiling Fan
The Fan is well made and quiet. The fan blades are balanced and there is no wobble at any speed . The light is able to provide enough light for entire room and the dimming feature with a remote is very handy. The one thing that prevented me from giving 5 stars was the size of the relay( controller for light and fan speed). It mounts between the ceiling box housing and is covered by the canopy. Some wiring needed to be re-routed and still the fit was extremely tight. The last thing you want is a wiring short. So far so good.

My favorite fan
I am a realtor and i do a lot of remodeling projects. I have used this fan in 3 properties and it has become my GO-TO ceiling fan! Great price, sleek look, and can be installed with short or long downrods, so it can be used with an 8 foot ceiling or a high ceiling, it even works on vaulted ceilings.The LED light is bright and you never have to change a bulb! It comes in brushed nickel or oiled bronze finishes. I got it for a great price on Bellecor and it shipped very quickly!

Do not buy this fan!
The entire light fixture must be replaced when the light burns out. AND, it’s expensive if you can find it ( 1/2 the price of your fan!) if you cannot find it, you must replace your fan and pay an installer to install the new fan. I will never even look at another MinkaAire product. I seriously regret this purchase. With a Hunter or any other brand, you simply replace the bulb when it burns out. No extra junk in the lanfill, inexpensive and easy.

Great looking fan!
I first considered this fan based strictly on the look, and I am not disappointed. Updating a house that is 30+ years, and this helps tremendously in my living room. It is also one of the quietest ceiling fans I have ever had. The only complaint I have, and it is very minor, is that the light brightness does not have a great enough range...it is either bright, or almost bright (if that makes sense), but perhaps that is the nature of LEDs.

can this fan be installed as a flush mount or very short downrod for 8 foot ceiling?
I think so, but the housing does have some thickness to it and from looking at mine, it looks like your blades would be about 12" or so from the ceiling. There may be a better flush-mount option that uses less space... Mine hangs about 3' from vaulted ceiling so it isn't an issue for us.
